PASTOR

SHARON SMITH

Pastor Sharon received her Masters of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary and has been an ordained pastor for 26 years, serving churches in the Upper Peninsula, Northern Wisconsin, Howell, and Brighton. She also has a master's degree in English language and literature with an emphasis on composition. She loves serving the Lord in ministry and especially enjoys preaching and visitation. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and participating in and watching sports. She also teaches English, religion, and humanities as an adjunct professor.

OFFICE MANAGER

LISA GAWEL

Lisa dedicated her life to the Lord almost 40 years ago. She enjoys serving the church by caring for the office needs and playing bells. Lisa earned her Master of Arts degree in philosophy from Eastern Michigan University, is an adjunct philosophy professor, and enjoys spending her free time with her family, friends and pets.

YOUTH DIRECTOR

MORGAN GIBBS

Morgan grew up in a family that served the church. From the time she was able, she enjoyed volunteering in service projects, helping the church make meals for the community, and teaching in Vacation Bible School. Morgan earned her Associate of Arts degree from Schoolcraft College and has an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate from the CDA Council for Professional Recognition. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets.

ORGANIST

GAIL BOYD

Gail began  playing music at churches at age 12. She studied at Wayne State University for over five years and privately with classical organists and church music professors. An organist for over 20 years, she has played at several churches in Wisconsin and Michigan including Detroit, Taylor, Whitmore Lake, and Brighton.

CONTEMPORARY MUSIC DIRECTOR

FRED GIRARD

Fred Girard is the Contemporary Music Director for St. George Lutheran Church. He's been instrumental in compiling a devoted praise band that plays at the 11:00 contemporary service. He and his wife Rachelle are veteran musicians and worship leaders, and have performed across North America.

TRADITIONAL WORSHIP SERVICE COORDINATOR

KEVIN KELLER

 

Kevin earned his music and teaching degree at Central Michigan University and taught elementary school and music for 26 years. Music has been an important part of his life. He's directed choral groups and hand bell choirs. Kevin has written and co-directed plays and has been a puppeteer. He loves to golf and work at professional tour events. Kevin and his wife, Julia reside in White Lake. They have two amazing daughters and five grandchildren.

FERNANDO RIVERO HRYZODUB

 

Fernando is a retired veteran who served in the United States Navy. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration as well as his Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. He loves family, community and, of course, finance and accounting! He resides in Ypsilanti with his wife and adorable little daughter.

ALIA MACSTAY

Alia MacStay is a student at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. She is a retired psychologist, who mostly worked with children. She is spending her internship year at St. George, and is looking forward to a lively, rich year of learning. Alia is the mother of one daughter and the grandmother of one granddaughter.
